Try the Costa Rica Summer International Co-op (CRsum) program which involves:
- earning 2 Co-op credits
- summer timeframe (July – August)
- 4 weeks duration
- one week preparation in York Region
- three weeks placement in Costa Rica
- host family living
- group oriented Cooperative Education work placements with a sea turtle nesting conservation project plus one or more of: community development, ecotourism and wildlife rehabilitation

- UPDATE February 2013: The International Cooperative Education to Ecuador (ICE) program will be taking a pause for the 2013-14 school year and will not be offered to students. Students interested in an International Cooperative Education experience may wish to consider the Costa Rica Summer International Co-op program. Try the International Cooperative Education to Ecuador (ICE) program which involves:
- earning 6 credits
- three “4U” grade 12 credits
- three Co-op credits
- a second semester timeframe (February – June) plus first semester activities
- 20 weeks duration
- four weeks of February preparation in York Region
- thirteen weeks of March to May placement in Ecuador
- three weeks of June debriefing in York Region
- host family living
- individually oriented Co-operative Education work placements in the fields of: agriculture, animal care, education, health care, small business or social work
