Our School

The Mission of Our School
The Mission of the York Region District School Board is that “we unite in our purpose to inspire and prepare learners for life in our changing world community.”

Armadale Public School is a culturally diverse community of learners committed to engage all stakeholders - students, teachers, parents, our community, alike - in becoming a ‘whole’ community of leaders and learners, where leaders become learners and learners become leaders. Our focus of the ‘Three C’s’ – Communication, Cooperation and sense of Community, encourages all to develop into capable and concerned citizens with the skills, knowledge and attitudes, that model respect and responsibility, in an ever changing Canadian society.

History
Armadale Public School opened for classes to begin in September of 1990. Our school and community members have worked as an integral team to make Armadale Public School the focal point of our community at large.

Our school motto (Three R’s) Respect for Self, Respect for Others and Respect for the Environment is achieved through the (Three C’s) Communication, Cooperation and sense of Community.

Up until 2008, the school mascot was the Anaconda entwined around a ‘storybook’ letter " A", symbolizing the inclusion and strength we gather from all - students, staff, parents and community. Our new school mascot is the Eagle - strong and proud, we will soar to reach our goals.

The school song entitled "Armadale" was written by staff and students. It identifies the many strengths of our school community.

Our school song is:

ARMADALE

There is a place where I can go
Where I am welcomed and I know
That I can be great if I try

Here we can learn from each other
The sky’s the limit - our future
Armadale’s great - we can’t deny

Here there is diversity
I can always just be me
And we’re all in perfect harmony

Chorus
Armadale - an amazing school
Armadale - we live the golden rule
At Armadale - learning is really cool
Armadale - our public school

Armadale’s cool, we’re a school that’s great
We’re all for fun and games from K to 8
We love to learn and we try our best
Throughout all of Markham, people are impressed

Sing ‘N Shout, Jump ‘N Jive
We love to perform, it makes us feel alive
From Council to Tech, we shine like the sun
And when we spike the ball, we make the other teams run

A - pick up the R to the M to the A
D - to the A to the L to the E
Just look around and for sure you will see
We’re rocking all the subjects from Math to History

...Armadale!...
