The Mission of Our School
The Mission of the York Region District School Board is that “we unite in our purpose to inspire and prepare learners for life in our changing world community.”

In order to support the Board’s mission, the mission of Mazo de la Roche P.S. is Mazo de la Roche Public School is committed to develop in each student, the attitudes, skills, and knowledge needed to become a caring, responsible, independent, bilingual contributor to society.

History
Mazo de la Roche P.S. is a French immersion school with 559 grade 1 to 8 students. It is named after Mazo de la Roche, one of the most successful French Canadian authors of the twentieth century. In 1927, she won the Atlantic Monthly prize for literature and thus brought Canadian literature into the limelight. Mazo died in 1961.

Our school motto is: Mazo de la Roche Public School is committed to develop in each student the attitudes, skills, and knowledge needed to become a bilingual, caring, and responsible contributor to society.

Our school mascot is the mustang.

Facilities
Mazo de la Roche P.S. was officially opened in 1990.

A child-care centre, Mazo Jr. Y, owned and operated by Y.M.C.A. of Greater Toronto is located at Mazo de la Roche P.S.

Transportation
The York Region District School Board has a transportation policy that applies to all of its schools.
