As outlined in Section 3:02 of the York Region District School Board Operational By-Laws, the Board Standing Committee, at the direction of the Chair’s Committee, Coordinating Council of Superintendents, or the Board, may make recommendations to the Board on the following topics;

1. the Board’s financial system,
2. financial statements and audit procedures,
3. general legislative grants,
4. insurance coverage,
5. transportation,
6. food services,
7. trust funds,
8. cash disbursements,
9. school and other facility design and construction,
10. capital forecast,
11. construction change orders,
12. maintenance and caretaking standards,
13. school utilization by day school and community,
14. building project progress reports,
15. mutual use agreements,
16. proposed plans of subdivisions,
17. long-range educational program planning,
18. educational program priorities,
19. professional development,
20. monetary dimension of programming,
21. educational research projects, and
22. student awards.

Board Standing Committee meetings are open to the public and usually held the second Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Education Centre – Aurora. Beginning January, 2012, Board Standing Committee meetings will be scheduled on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
