- Do you like learning by doing? Try taking International Cooperative Education which integrates classroom learning with hands-on work experience, but with an international flavour.
- Instead of working locally, ICE students enjoy a work placement in agriculture, business, education (teaching ESL, teaching assistant, day care), health care or social work at a location several thousand kilometres away from their Canadian home.
- Ecuador in South America, a beautiful country rich in flora and fauna, and home to the famous Galapagos Islands, the towering Andes Mountains, and the mighty Incan culture acts as our ICE destination.
- Students earn 6 high school credits as they live their 13 week, 24 hours a day experience. They are immersed in Spanish language and local culture, are often "adopted" by the host family with which they live with, effectively becoming a member of the community.
- Students gain valuable global experience and develop internationally sought skills: facility in Spanish, cross cultural communication and sensitivity, acceptance of others, flexibility, observation, analysis, responsible decision making and self confidence. All of the above help prepare students to act effectively in their local, regional, national and global communities, while they open up opportunities for study and work not accessible to "regular" high school students.

“I am so thankful that I have had the opportunity to embark on such a life altering learning experience. The end of this program is rather the beginning of my new life of maturity, self-discovery, independence and awareness.”Sara Glazer – ICE Alumni Student – Westmount C.I.
“I became my own person with my own ideas and the ability to approach people on my own.”Lauren Hoegy – ICE Alumni Student – Huron Heights S.S.
“This was an absolutely outstanding educational experience for our daughter. It had far greater impact on her life skills, dreams, aspirations and intellectual development than any other course.”Tom Johnson & Nancy Ward – ICE Alumni Parents
