The Mission of Our School Glad Park shares the Mission of the York Region District School Board: "We unite in our purpose to inspire and prepare learners for life in our changing world community."
History Glad Park P.S. is named after the street on which it is located in the town of Stouffville. The school officially opened on October 6, 1997. Our school motto is "Learning for Life" and the school mascot is the Grizzly Bear.
Facilities Glad Park P.S. has 30 classrooms, 4 resource rooms, library, and gymnasium (6 portables are on site but are not currently being used). At present, we accommodate nearly 600 JK-8 students in our school. In addition to having a before and after school program (privately run), we have many community based organizations use our facility for evening programs. Our exterior property includes: a playground, soccer field, paved play area (basketball nets, low organization/cooperative games, etc.), baseball diamond, and outdoor classroom.
Transportation The York Region District School Board has a transportation policy that applies to all of its schools. The number of students bussed to Glad Park P.S. is approximately 400 at this time. A parent facilitated Kiss and Ride program operates year round to support families that drive their children to school.
