The Mission of Our School
The Mission of the York Region District School Board is that "we unite in our purpose to inspire and prepare learners for life in our changing world community."

In order to support the Board's mission, the mission of Ventura Park P.S. is to provide each child with academic and social opportunities which allow each child to reach his/her potential.

History
Ventura Park P.S., was opened in September 1999 and, for 10 years, served children in Grade 5-8, forming a unique “middle” school environment. A community survey of parents, students and staff elicited the name Ventura Park P.S. As a result of a school boundary review conducted in 2009, and to respond to the growing parental demand for French Immersion programming, Ventura Park P.S. completed a 3 year transition (2009-2012) phasing out the English program an establishing a French Immersion school. With grades 1-4 currently in place, it is anticipated that the school will continue to transition to accommodate grades 1-8 by 2016-2017.

In 2011-2012, Ventura Park will be comprised of grade 1, 2 and 3 French Immersion and grade 8 English programs.

Our school motto is "Ensemble vers notre rêve"

Our school sports team mascot is the Ventura Park Vikings.

Our School Touchstone based on input from our staff, students and parent community and composed collaboratively by selected grade 3 and 4 students under the guidance of school administrators is as follows:

Facilities
Ventura Park P.S. was officially opened in 1999. A special tile was given to every child and staff member to commemorate the official opening of the school. These tiles were painted to express the individuality of each person and to showcase the diversity of our community.

A Before and After School program, owned and operated by Le Club Child Care was established at in September 2009 and serves many of our French Immersion students
