CONDUCTING EXTERNAL RESEARCH IN THE YORK REGION DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

Important Notice:

Due to the large number of external research initiatives currently underway in our Board, and our responsibility to protect instructional time and ensure minimal disruption to the school day, a limited number of research applications will be approved at this time. Please consider applying to other Boards in order to meet your research needs and timelines.

This site will be updated once current research demands have been reduced.

The York Region District School Board (YRDSB) is supportive of educational research in the system; however, we are also mindful that the students have been entrusted to the schools for their own personal education. In order to allow access to the schools while safeguarding the educational process, applications for conducting research are reviewed by the External Research Review Committee. This Committee considers all applications carefully using the criteria outlined on the following pages. Following approval by the External Research Review Committee, conducting of research within a specific school is subject to the approval of the principal.

NOTE: Researchers are advised to consider concurrently applying to other school boards in the event that the application is not approved.

Please read all sections before completing and submitting an application.
