Why:

To increase public awareness of the York Region Parenting and Family Literacy Centres. There is increasing evidence that experience-based brain development in the early years of life sets neurological and biological pathways that affect lifelong health, learning and behaviour. Investment in early childhood development programs has a positive impact on school readiness to learn and student achievement

Who:

YRDSB trustees, superintendents and staff as well as representatives from various community organizations. The network of centres is funded by the Ministry of Education.
