The electronic translation service on the York Region District School Board's website is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. Parenting and Family Literacy Centres
Parenting and Family Literacy Centres are school-based programs in which parents and children, birth to six years of age, participate in engaging learning experiences that support the development of the child and the early acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills. The programs are fully-funded by the Ministry of Education, and are located in high-needs neighbourhoods.
Ontario Early Years Centres York Region
Ontario Early Years Centres are places where parents and caregivers can:
- take part with their children in a range of programs and activities
- get answers to questions
- get information about programs and services that are available for young children and their families
- talk to early years professionals, as well as other parents and caregivers in the community.
All Our Kids (AOK) Programs
These programs provide families with information, programs and links to services for children aged birth to six years old. AOK Early Child Development and Parenting Programs are operated by community agencies and funded by York Region.
