The 2012-2013 school year calendars as outlined below have received formal approval from the Ministry of Education.
1. That the school year for those locations operating on a regular schedule shall consist of 194 days with students commencing school on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 and include the following:
a) the designation of 188 Instructional Days commencing Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in the School Year Calendar 2012-2013;
b) the last school day for secondary students be Wednesday, June 26, 2013 and Thursday, June 27, 2013 for elementary students; and
c) the designation of six Professional Activity Days in the School Year Calendar 2012-2013.
2. That Keswick High School, Sutton District High School, Maple High School and Markville Secondary School (early start schools) operate on a modified version of the regular schedule commencing school one week earlier than other schools on Monday, August 27, 2012 and taking a one-week mid-term break commencing Monday, October 29, 2012 to Friday, November 2, 2012.
3. That Bill Crothers Secondary School (balanced calendar) operate on a modified version of the regular schedule commencing school on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 and have August 30 and 31, 2012, October 5, 2012, October 29, 2012 to November 2, 2012, November 16, 2012 and April 22, 2013 to April 26, 2013 as holidays.
4. That the school holidays be as follows.

The 2012-2013 school year will also include two Professional Training Days in order to focus on Ministry initiatives, health and safety compliance training and implementation of the Board's literacy and numeracy priorities:

- Modified School Year Calendar (Bill Crothers SS only): Tuesday, August 7, 2012 and Friday, February 15, 2013
