The Heritage Schoolhouse is the museum and archives for the York Region District School Board.

Mission
The Heritage Schoolhouse will provide the setting and resources to inspire and encourage learners to develop their potential through active and interactive learning opportunities.

Collection Mandate
To collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret historical documents and material culture relevant to the development of public education in the area that is now encompassed by York Region.

Programming Goals
The Museum focuses on object based learning and teaching students of all ages how to use primary sources to learn about the past. Our goal is to promote historical literacy for students by offering them instructive tools to make sense of the material world around them past and present.
