The following courses will be offered at Bayview Secondary School in the 2009-2010 School year. When selecting courses, pleases note the grade level and destination of each course, and pay special attention to the prerequisite or recommended background. Also, note any material costs and course fees.
Students should refer to the York Region District School Board Course Directory at www.yrdsb.edu.on.ca for general information concerning the Ontario Secondary School curriculum.
It is very important that all students make careful, wise choices during the course selection process in consultation with their parents or guardians. Students are strongly encouraged to seek guidance with their selections from subject teachers, Guidance Services, ESL Teachers, Special Education Teachers and the IB Co-ordinator.
Individual courses are scheduled for a given year based on the number of students who request the particular course. No course will be offered unless there is sufficient enrolment to support the program. Timetabling conflicts may also result in students not being able to obtain their desired selections.
Full-time students at Bayview Secondary School must take the following number of credits:
Grade 9 : 8 credits
Grade 10: 8 credits
Grade 11: 8 credits
Grade 12: minimum 6 credits
